The innocuously whimsical lovers embraced
Hidden in their quixotically halcyon realm
Far away from the pugnacious nationalists
With their thousand different tongues
And their thousand different faiths
Their minatory alacrity to tear each others flesh
Bleeding profusely over a minute detail of theology
But the whimsical lovers embraced tighter still
Fully embracing this transient moment known as life
The brilliant blossom of Idun’s spring
As the sirens of Hiroshima came once again
And their flesh was singed off by the blast
But their whimsical souls embraced even tighter
Calling back the brilliant blossom of Idun’s spring
